greetings from Mukfa!

Greetings from Mukfa!, is a full-length documentary on the renowned visual artist Ronald Markman. His main works focus on an imaginary world called Mukfa, a colorful, graphic land where heroes, villains, and mermaids live side by side. Says Markman, “In Mukfa, I [am] free to explore the limits of the nonsensical, the absurd, and the subversive.” He paints his cartoonish characters on cut out metal and wood pieces, forming them into sculpture-like collages of information that incorporate current events and push social norms, The themes in his work continue to be relevant today and speak to everyone, providing us with humor, wit, whimsy, and self-reflection.
